The Agilent Network Analyzer family represents a new generation of analyzer designed to meet the challenge of troubleshooting modern IP-centric and switched networks, building on the award-winning user interface and expert protocol analysis of the Agilent Advisor range.
Extremely powerful acquisition hardware provides real-time extraction and re-assembly of packet-based data from within WAN and ATM. And auto-detection of more than 30 IP encapsulation methods allows expert higher layer protocol analysis of captured data, in real-time.
A comprehensive range of exchangeable network interface modules, expert analysis of over 300 protocols, and a choice of portable, distributed and software versions - the Agilent Network Analyzer is the troubleshooting tool of choice for modern technologies, including IP telephony, IP QoS, streaming applications and mobile telephony applications.
The Network Analyzer family provides flexibility and consistency across the range. All hardware options use the same "hot-swappable" Line Interface Modules (LIM's) for local and remote analysis of critical networks over a wide range of network interfaces. And a software-only version runs on a standard Windows PC to provide exactly the same expert analysis for smaller LAN's - or to control multiple Distributed Network Analyzer modules.
The hardware data acquisition modules can be used in conjunction with Network Analyser (NA) software for deep packet inspection, Triple Play Analyser (TPA) software for Triple Play and IPTV networks, and Signaling Analyser Real-Time (SART) software for mobile signaling applications.

J6835 Distributed Network Analyzer Software Agent .
The J6835 Software Agent is pure software that can be loaded on to any remote network-connected PC. Invisible to the local PC user, it allows a remote engineer at a central site to run full expert protocol analysis on the network segment to which the PC is connected. The software can either be permanently installed to give a very cost-effective means of distributed network analysis - or installed on request to investigate particular incidents.
|
|
Features
- Runs in background on user's PC
- Runs in parallel with user's normal PC use
- Provides local data capture and expert protocol analysis
- Agent is controlled and results are viewed from a remote centralised copy of Network Analyzer software (or hardware)
- Provides the same features and user interface as all other Network Analyzer products
Network Analyzer - Software
| J6840 Network Analyzer Software Edition.
J6840 Network Analyzer Software runs under
Windows or NT on standard PC's and provides the same
expert analysis and user interface as the hardware-based
Network Analysers using the PC's standard network interface
cards as measurement interfaces for LAN (10/100/1000 Mb/s
Ethernet and Token Ring). For example, the 10/100 PC Cards
(PCMCIA cards) found in most PC laptops can be used as the
test interface for monitoring the LAN network traffic, even
while this card is simultaneously providing the network connection
for the PC to that LAN.
|
|
Network Analyzer Software is remarkably flexible.
- It provides the consistent base software for controlling hardware-based portable analysers such as the J6803 DNA Pro Network Analyzer, hardware-based distributed analysers such as the J6801 Distributed Network Analyzer, and the distributed Network Analyzer Software Agent J6835. The software is pre-loaded and automatically enabled on the J6800A. A CD and one license key is supplied with the J6801 to allow the software to be loaded and enabled on a PC.
- It runs in PCs as a software analyzer, using off-the-shelf network interface cards (NICs) as measurement interfaces for LAN (10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet). For example, the 10/100 PC Cards (PCMCIA cards) found in most PC laptops can be used as the test interface for monitoring the LAN network traffic, even while this card is simultaneously providing the network connection for the PC to that LAN.
- It provides off-line analysis allowing previously captured and saved LAN and WAN/ATM data to be re-analyzed using the full features available on-line for captured data.
Network Analyzer Software is pre-loaded and runs on the embedded PC in the J6800A Network Analyzer. It is also shipped on CD media with the J6801 Distributed Network Analyzer, together with a single-use license key to enable the software on a PC/laptop. License keys plus manuals and CD media for running the software on additional PCs can be purchased as the J6840 product. For example, a second engineer can control an existing Distributed Network Analyzer from his/her PC, with the purchase and installation of the J6841 software product. The engineer can also use the additional components of the software, Network Analyzer SW Edition to perform LAN testing with a NIC, and Off-line Analysis for LAN and WAN/ATM processing. Of course the capabilities of the proprietary acquisition systems out-perform standard NIC performance, but SW Edition provides the same useful, extensive measurements.

J6900 Triple Play Analyzer (TPA)
Triple Play converged IP-based networks carry data, voice and video over a single pipe, in real time, with conflicting demands on quality and performance. Many test tools look at a single aspect of Triple Play, eg video or VoIP quality, without considering the effect of one application on another.
Agilent's J6900A TPA is an important breakthrough as a single analyser that makes it easy to see the total effect on the network of all three applications at once and then drill down into troubleshooting data, video and voice. The Triple Play Dashboard screen provides a and an. This simple view gives an instant visual representation of how the network is being used and how different applications are performing and interacting
|
|
Features
- Triple Play Dashboard with top level view of the network including Vital Stats for total Data, Video and Voice traffic
- Instantaneous visual indicator of the distribution of total traffic between different protocols and types of service
- Drill down into full 7-layer protocol analysis of data for all data applications including IP, web and gaming.
- Drill down into detailed analysis of video, including parameters and measurements per channel and per subscriber, for Video-on-demand (VoD), IPTV and Microsoft TV (MSTV)
